2004

From 13 February till 13 March, IAAS students majoring in Indonesian Studies, took part in the exhibition organized jointly by the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia, Antique Center and Moscow Academy of Music in connection with the 50th Anniversary of the establishing the Indonesian Embassy in Moscow. Ambassador of the RI His Excellency Susanto Pujomartono launched the exhibition. Russian students together with the Indonesian school children performed the music playing on Indonesian national music instruments, such as gamelan, kolintang and angklung. Besides, they also performed the Pencak Silat dance.
On March 24, a poetry reading took place at IAAS with two Indonesian poets showed their talents. They were Benny Benke and Doddy Achmad Fawdzy who came to Moscow on the invitation of the IAAS Director Prof. M.S. Meyer. They recited the verses of their own (their Russian translation by Liudmila Demidyuk were recited by the IAAS students) ) as well as the poetry of Indonesian classic poets (Аmir Hamzah, Chairil Anwar, WS Rendra, Goenawan Mohamad, Sapardi Djoko Damono, Sutardji Calzum Bachri).
On May 14, students in Indonesian Studies hold a performance of Indonesian culture which has become a traditional event at IAAS. It was attended by His Excellency Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia Susanto Pujomartono and the Chancellor Nurrahman Ourip. The cultural show was held with the assistance of and in collaboration with the Indonesian Embassy. Students together with Indonesian school children played the traditional music instruments such as gamelan, and angklung. The students also performed Indonesian songs, dances and Pencak Silat, as well as recited Indonesian poetry, and staged a comedy ‘Telephone’. Music, dances and Pencak Silat were taught and directed by Mrs. Dewi Ratih, Mr. Wahyu, Mr. Ahmad Marzuki and Sukardi. Stage producer : IAAS Lecturer in Indonesian Mr. Awal Uzhara. ATTANTION!
